A day in the life...

Wow, so this is the life of a working person?

Waking up at 6:30, catching a shuttle to the metro 8:00, taking two metros to my stop Capitol South 8:45, then trek to work and pray that I catch a relatively empty elevator to the office 9:00.  Work though lunch, keep up with the interns, mail flags to constituents, schedule White House tours, talk to old people about Medicare, answer mail from people worried about no child left behind, keep the office entertained.  Catch the metro at 6:00, make it home by 7:00 if I'm lucky, run to the dry cleaners and try to persuade them to open back up so I can get my stuff, collapse on my bed 8:00 and think about dinner.  Hmm, cereal or sandwich?  (I always look forward to Thursday night Spaghetti with John<3 and Wed night Bible study at CHBC).  Get in bed and set my alarm for it to all start over again.

Wow....sounds crazy huh?!

Almost There

Today I was reading a conservative blog and came across this:

John Adams said “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”

This is a very important statement seeing how a lot of times people will not vote for the candidates resembling their values and moral stances because they feel as thought they should vote between the two candidates that are the front-runners.  He goes on to say:

There is no such thing as a “wasted” vote. A vote is a statement of one’s innermost and most passionately held beliefs. It cannot be “wasted” anymore than getting up at a PTA meeting to speak against an overwhelmingly popular motion is a wasted exercise.

By trying to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading in this matter, and from the knowledge that you gain from researching these candidates a little, we can vote for the best one in full confidence that we have done what will matter in heaven and ultimately please God.

Being heard even if you are a lone advocate is what is important. And the fact that this right to be heard is protected and cherished in our republic is a true blessing, something we take for granted far too often.

So my friends, stay true to your convictions and don't be swayed by the thought that you have to vote for moderates to be heard!
